Concept Design

Programme code:  CMD-CD
Semester:   Spring
Number of ECTS:  30
Language of instruction:  English

Profile of the programme

At the basis of the creative industry you find concepts for brands, products and services. All the advertising, websites, apps and services that you see around you have been designed to convince you. When they work they are usually based on a good concept.

A concept is the overall idea, the 'little hook', that you can use to link many different expressions like design, photography, film and illustration. In this specialization we focus on the thoughts and processes that form the basis for these forms of communication: concepts.

You will learn how to come up with basic ideas, how to develop them into effective concepts and how to apply those concepts in various media.

You will learn about the influence of clients, advertising and design agencies and how to motivate and defend your concept. But most importantly: you will practice a lot making concepts and the visualizations that are based on them.

For a career in the creative industry these are invaluable tools to have in your personal toolbox.
