Since then students from Albania, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, the Baltic countries, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazachstan, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the USA have worked together to improve their skills. In 2015 the programme celebrated its 25th anniversary with an international symposium and reunion, attended by many renown international alumni.

The Danish and Dutch J-schools offer this special study programme as part of their regular curriculum. The course Europe in the World is part of the Gutenberg programme of advanced journalism studies and is an honours programme at the HU. Each year 24 young professionals from different countries will have the opportunity to join this prestigious programme in international reporting.

The course presents:

  • the development of Europe and the European Union;
  • an outlook on different forms of regional cooperation in Europe;
  • culture and identity in Europe;
  • the role of Europe in the world;
  • relations between Eastern and Western European countries;
  • relations between Europe and developing countries.
  • reporting on Europe and international affairs, (news platform and online magazine)

This honours programme cannot be compared to regular academic exchange. Students live and study in two countries, travel to various European locations, and produce an exciting variety of journalistic products.
