Innovation is a top priority for organizations these days. However, finding innovators within the organization can be a challenge. This minor will give you the skills to fulfill that need and lead innovation in large organizations.
You will form interdisciplinary teams and work on a real innovation challenge within a large organization such as KLM, PON automotive and Careyn. At least two days per week you will be based in the assigned company and work closely with their employees.
The minor consists of four learning phases over 20 weeks. We will work with LEAN startup and design thinking methodologies to teach you about innovation in companies. Through workshops, teamwork and personal coaching you will have the opportunity to hone your leadership and entrepreneurial skills. You will conduct research to write a case study on the company you work for. During Learning Days you will demonstrate your knowledge and skills in the presence of the corporate partners, while the Conference Days will provide you with in-depth understanding of different conceptual models, methods and best practices. By the end of this minor you could create a new value proposition or come up with new strategies that open up new business opportunities for the company.
NB: If your English language ability proves to be insufficient to participate actively in (parts of) the courses you have chosen, we cannot be bound to the Learning Agreement, neither can we guarantee to offer you the required amount of Study load (EC’s). Teachers might request you to take a diagnostic test at the start of the course to check if your English language ability is sufficient to successfully participate in that specific course. In all cases it is up to the programme manager to decide if your English language ability is sufficient to be eligible for the programme/course.
